Welcome to Diagnostix Network Alliance. DNA is a bio-technology sales organization representing a revolutionary technology which is the fastest, most accurate and effective method available to identify multiple infectious pathogens using molecular multiplexing. This proprietary testing process, provided by DIATHERIX Laboratories and is a molecular differential diagnostic (MDD) tool trademarked as Tem-PCR™, an acronym for “Target Enhanced Multiplexing”. Tem-PCR™ overcomes the obstacles of traditional multiplex PCR assay development with specific and highly sensitive amplification of multiple targets in a single reaction tube.
A Tem-PCR™ test is done in panels that use one sample in one reaction system to detect a group of molecular targets relevant to a multitude of clinically infectious pathogens. For example, the Respiratory series of panels can detect up to 80 respiratory pathogens, both bacterial and viral, to include H5N1 bird flu as well as other Influenza specific genes such as H1, H2, H3, H5, H7, H9, N1, N2, and NS genes for Influenza A and B.
Genaco founder Jian Han, MD, PhD is the inventor of Tem-PCR™ and is a researcher trained in the fields of molecular genetics and medicine. Dr. Han sits on the American Board of Medical Genetics serving as a certified clinical molecular geneticist, and was the first principal investigator to join the prestigious HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, located in Huntsville, AL. Recent recipient of the Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award and recognized by a Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation award in medicine and biotechnology, Dr. Han is an innovative scientist and physician. His Tem-PCR™ technology has proven to provide fast, accurate genetic detection of infectious pathogens thereby providing information to assist fellow physicians administer specific and effective infectious disease treatments. Dr. Han serves as Director of DIATHERIX Laboratory, headquartered in the HudsonAlpha Institute. With its proprietary Tem-PCR™ technology, DIATHERIX Laboratory is a recognized leader in the infectious disease testing market.
A significant collection of publications validate Tem-PCR™ technology. Since 2003 a series of important scientific papers authored leading scientists have been published and peer reviewed, each recognizing the power of Tem-PCR™ technology and highlighting its applications in molecular differential diagnostics (MDD).
Like modern CT technology that can scan the human body for structural abnormalities, Tem-PCR™ technology can scan a human sample and identify the particular pathogen responsible for an infection, or detect genetic changes within that pathogen which contribute to its drug resistance. Make no mistake; in the most positive sense, Tem-PCR™ is a disruptive technology, delivering incredible benefits and advances to modern medical practice.
Progressive healthcare professionals and providers recognize that personalized medicine requires personalized diagnostics. This methodology detects targeted causative agents associated with a particular patient, not the symptoms associated with a group of patients. Until Tem-PCR™ physicians could only prescribe treatment based on statistics, i.e., “if I give this drug, I will have 75% chance that the patient will respond favorably.” This means there is 25% of the risk that the patient may not respond to delivered treatment. Now physicians have a more accurate diagnostic tool…Tem-PCR™.
The advance of molecular diagnostic technology, especially PCR (polymerase chain reaction), made possible the study of disease at the molecular level. Unfortunately PCR is limited in that it can only study one molecular target at a time. Using a process called differential diagnosis; Tem-PCR™ now makes it possible to accurately diagnosis by screening multiple possibilities, thereby focusing on the real cause of a particular infection.
As a positive disruptive technology, Tem-PCR™ not only makes molecular differential diagnostics possible, it supports automation of the process. Further, control of a public health crisis such as SARS and Bird Flu is greatly enhanced using MDD. Developed in 2003 to solve the pressing issue SARS, Tem-PCR™ panels have since been developed for monitoring a multitude of public health and emerging infectious diseases. We now have Tem-PCR™ testing panels which identifies MRSA, respiratory infections, avian flu typing, TB identification and drug resistance, and food borne pathogens.
During the initial phase of an outbreak of emerging infections such as SARS or Avian Flu, the most important issue to control the spread of the disease is to quickly identify those patients need to be isolated and treated. Further, accurate identification of the causative pathogen can put the public at ease and help alleviate panic.
With traditional molecular tools, it is difficult to quickly identify an outbreak because scientists will have to try all available assays for each of the possible pathogen. Limited samples and access to technology make outbreak control an impossible task. With Tem-PCR™, all possible pathogens associated with a clinical syndrome (respiratory infection, for example) can be screened with one test. This dramatically enhances response times and allows public health officials make the right decision almost immediately.
